Kingdom Trails Pump Track, East Burke, VT

Once again I have just returned have from three days of mountain biking on the amazing trail network in East Burke, VT known as the Kingdom Trails.  In addition to going there for the pure thrill of doing nothing but focusing on mountain biking and re-charging my creative batteries, I also wanted to ride and shoot some photos of the Kingdom Trails Pump Track.  In Portland, we have a newer skate park but not a pump track and I would like to see if it is possible to change that.  The following short video is straight out the camera and shot by my friend Sam of me riding on the track.  My hope is share this video and gain support for a pump track in Portland, Maine.

Fall colors in the Northeast Kingdom, Vermont

One of my favorite places in all of New England, I am happy to be returning to the area on Saturday for three days of mountain biking and photographing of the Fall colors.  This photo was shot almost a year ago to the day.  I wait all year to ride the Kingdom Trails during the Fall and it is worth the wait every year. More photos will be posted once I return to Portland.

12 Hours of Bradbury Mountain 2012

The 6th annual mountain bike race was held this past Saturday 9.22.12 at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, ME.  This event is one of my favorite bike races to photograph and it's timing in late September has made it a Fall classic.  Unlike previous years where I have been able to camp out and shoot for the whole day I had a limited window of time to get some great shots.  Another client had me booked for an event that afternoon.  I arrived early and got to business as quick as I could capturing some 350 final images of riders in about two hours.  I shot from 8AM to 10AM and then had my friend James Lindley fill in after 12 noon to make sure we captured as many riders as possible.  My gallery of images can be seen on my smugmug site here.  I will be out on the courses the Fall capturing some of the local cyclocross races, Gloucester, Pinelands and the Bikeman Cyclocross Race in Portland are just a few of the racers I have on my radar. 

Two Lights Lobster Shack, Cape Elizabeth, ME

With the summer season winding down as the Fall has arrived, I was quickly reminded that I need to get my Lobster Roll fix before our abundance of lobster shacks close for the winter.  This awesome looking lobster roll was prepared for the MSN Online Series called ReDiscover.  I worked with the film crew for three days while they where in town this past May.  Unlike when I when I do a food shoot for a magazine and am happy to indulge after the work is done this lobster roll was the one that got away.  At two lights you get an amazing lobster roll and one of the best views of Casco Bay and the ocean.  Not a bad way to have lunch.
