Faces of Occupy Maine

This has been a very busy month and it's been hard to keep track of current events between work and family life.  The other day on my way to a photo shoot, I noticed that Lincoln Park on Congress Street in Portland had been converted to a mini camp for those Mainer's who are in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York and across the globe.  It was a surprising sight to see tents set up in a park in downtown Portland.  This morning with some free time in my schedule I made a visit to the park to meet some of the faces of those who are standing up for what they believe in, the 99%.  The weather today is pretty lousy with pouring rain and those committed to the cause are doing it rain or shine!  I had a bit of chat with Shane (in the hat) and after a while he asked if I would take his photo.  It is not easy advocating for any cause these days but I do appreciate those who just want to be heard.

FairPoint Photo Shoot Wrapped!

Yesterday I finished up the 3rd day of our photo shoot at a location near Belfast, ME.  The weather cleared just in time for us and it was a beautiful day to be working outdoors.  On the way home my assistant Todd and I decided to take the scenic route back to Portland down Route 1.  Passing through Lincolnville, Camden, Rockport and Rockland we were treated to the beautiful afternoon light being cast on these already picturesque towns.  Just as we were rolling South of Thomaston we could see a large storm quickly approaching from the North West.  There were dark clouds on one side of the car and the low angle of the sun on the other, the contrast of light is what I live for.  With less then a minute before the storm overtook our position we found a place to pull off while I snapped about a dozen photos before the sky opened up.  It was nice way to finish up three days of photographing on the road!

Working with FairPoint Communications

I was recently hired by the SapientNitro Agency for a three day photo shoot in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine for a project with FairPoint Communications.  Can't share details now but the crew has been great to work with and the project is moving along smoothly.  I will share images and specifics when I can.

Alumni weekend at University of New England

On Saturday I photographed an alumni event at the University of New England's Biddeford Campus.  It was perfect day for photos as it was overcast during the afternoon bbq lunch reception.  Around 4:30PM as the next reception and dedication ceremony got under way the sun came out. There was a great and super nice crowd on hand that made my job of documenting the event a pleasure.  Photos from the event can be seen here.

Bradbury Race Photos Posted On-line

I just finished uploading all of my photos from last Saturday's 12 Hours Of Bradbury Mountain Bike Race.  The images can be seen here.  A tip for purchasing photos, I would recommend buying an 8 x 12" over an 8 x 10" print.  Some of these photos are cropped tight in the camera and the 8 x 10" print format cuts 2 inches off the long access of the photo.  The 8 x 12" is just a little bit more expensive but you get a substantially larger image and it is printed full frame, what you see is what you get.
